About Andy Mc, LMT and Muscle Works STL:

“Through the years, I learned what worked well through the process of being an active listener during the process of performing therapeutic massage. I would discuss, treat, then ask at the end of the service what the patient thought. Over time, I learned that at the right moment, some feedback during the session could enhance the process.

Later, unlike the broader culture of massage therapy that emphasized relaxation through silence, I found that being open conversationally with the client before, during (to the client’s preferences), and following up after allowed me to not just adjust what I was doing, but to learn to become a better therapist. As a result, my happiest clients can better understand what muscle issues I find during the work, can discuss the possible sources of discomfort, and talk about how to avoid the problem in the future as part of the overall process of therapeutic massage.

We are here to help you have a sustainable improvement from before and after the massage - and from session to session - so that over time you can actually feel better than when you started and whether that involves silence or not for you is up to you - it’s the feeling better that’s the whole point.”
